45 trainees joined the Special Weapons and Armed Tactics (SWAT) training that was started last April 8.

The Provincial Police Office (PPO) of Agusan del Sur facilitated the said training with the sponsorship of LGU Bayugan City thru Mayor Kim Lope Asis and the support of the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur through Governor Adolph Edward G. Plaza.

According to Police Inspector David Mondero III, the participants came from the City of Bayugan, municipality of San Francisco and the Provincial Public Safety Company.

Police Inspector Mondero added that this batch will be the first SWAT team of the province and the trainers of this training came from the  Counter Terrorism Unit of 1st Battalion of PNP Special Action Force.

Side Story:

I thought that I couldn't do the interview because according to someone that we asked first, we need a clearance. But fortunately, my friend/Assistant News Director contacted the PIO of the PPO and gave us the clearance to get some video footage and conduct interview.

I felt dizzy at that time because I didn't have enough sleep and I was operating the TV station at that time.

But despite of tiring activities that time, I felt fulfilled that I accomplished many things.

The Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur in partnership with the Naliyagan Stakeholders Association Incorporated conducted a Press Conference for the upcoming Naliyagan Festival 2014 last June 3, 2014.

I was worried that time for the result of the Press Conference since they asked for the Activity design last May 30 (Friday)  and the event will be on June 3 (Tuesday). And I still need to prepare for the training for the Department Information Officers.

There were 43 media practitioners from local and national came on the said event.

As Mr. Michael Santos, the event organizer, started the Press Confab with a presentation of the Festival highlights and night events.

Then followed by the 2014 Innovations of this Naliyagan Festival, where he proudly told the press people that there are 24 Security Surveillance Camera System with night vision and zoom capability that will cover all the entrances and exits including the audience area.

They had also an enhanced security and crowd management where they already identified a centralized parking area. There will be a checkpoints all over the area and deploy 381 security personnel.

In relation to the topic about the security of the area, Mr. Richard Grande of Lips 106.1 FM asked the organizers on how they will address the problem regarding on the missing things especially those things they left on their motorcycle.

Mr. Santos clarified this issue, which most of these incidents were due to the negligence of the owner. Because they left their motorcycle in a place where there is a less visibility to the security personnel.

Then, Mr. Santos asked the press to help them in the dissemination of the awareness about the proper parking areas and told the tourists/visitors not to put their vehicles anywhere.

There will be artists from Manila including Lolita Carbon of ASIN, ABRA, Rivermaya, Parokya ni Edgar, Brownman Revival and Kapuso stars Mark Bautista and Gladys Guevarra.

Governor Adolph Edward "Eddiebong" G. Plaza answered all the inquiries including the questionable advance solicitation to the sponsors and payment for the rent of the business booth.

According to Governor Plaza, all the solicitations or any money received by the provincial government will issue an Official Receipt or accept Check on any money-matter transactions.

Press Conference for Naliyagan Festival 2014

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

Its been awhile since I blog, and today, I will share to you what happened.

Today is the second day of the "Brigada Eskwela" of the Department of Education here in the Philippines. But yesterday, I am glad to witness the kick-off  of the activity.

I am honored to document the visit of the officials of our province in Agusan del Sur.

Governor Adolph Edward “Eddiebong” G. Plaza led the party and with him were Vice Governor Santiago Cane Jr., SP Edelberto Bastareche, SP Nestor Corvera, SP Susan Gerona, SP Gina Ceballos, SP Edwin Demegillo, SP Samuel Tortor, ABC President Glenn Plaza and other officials of the province.

Mayor Kim Lope Asis of Bayugan City was also there.

There were teachers, parents and children and volunteers from other organizations who were there to participate in cleaning the whole school and as well as welcomed them (provincial officials) and toured them to the school.

The officials of the province of Agusan del Sur visits the school of Tabon-tabon Elementary School of the municipality of Sibagat and Agusan del Sur Pilot Laboratory School of Bayugan City.

The group visited first the Tabon-tabon Elementary School and then in Agusan del Sur Pilot Laboratory School (ADSPILS) in Bayugan City.

In ADSPILS, Principal  Rosalia Perez shared her grievances about their facilities to Governor Eddiebong Plaza and Vice Governor Santi Cane Jr. But Governor Plaza told her to submit a report and they will give the assistance based on the report submitted.

Principal Perez was very glad to hear and to see that the officials visited their school.

Governor Plaza treat the whole teachers for a bottle of fruit juice.

The vendor was so happy because all of her products were sold out in just that morning.
