I am glad to witness this annual walk for a cause though I didn't join because my body still hurts because of what we did last week (I will post it after this).

Over 529 participants joined the annual Global Walk of ANCOP ( Answering the Cry of the Poor) A Walk for the Scholars last May 25 at Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.

It is a 5-kilometer fun walk with a registration fee of 300 pesos that includes T-shirt and snacks.

Since, I am not participating this event, I arrived at 5 a.m. just in time to get them entering the finish line. As a reporter, this was my second time to conduct a coverage and take note, it was all by my self. I didn't have my cameraman, I made myself as a cameraman. So, I gather information, capture the scene and conduct an interview. I was a pretty challenging stuff.

But I am glad that my friends in Singles for Christ was there to make the event successful. And with their help I managed myself to do my job. I am thankful that "Nanay" helped me and also Nova. Their patience was at the top. Thank you very much.



I would like to thank Mr. Luis Kong for the interview and especially to Mayor Kim Lope "Bobong" Asis of Bayugan City (sorry for having an ambush interview).

Thanks to Ms. Carie Burdeos and Mr. Diony Calo of Basket Fresh Mini Mart which is located along the Maharlika Highway, Taglatawan, Bayugan City near the Jehovah's Witnesses Church. 

And also to Ms. Liesel Siega, one of the scholars of ANCOP.

Its been awhile since I blog, and today, I will share to you what happened.

Today is the second day of the "Brigada Eskwela" of the Department of Education here in the Philippines. But yesterday, I am glad to witness the kick-off  of the activity.

I am honored to document the visit of the officials of our province in Agusan del Sur.

Governor Adolph Edward “Eddiebong” G. Plaza led the party and with him were Vice Governor Santiago Cane Jr., SP Edelberto Bastareche, SP Nestor Corvera, SP Susan Gerona, SP Gina Ceballos, SP Edwin Demegillo, SP Samuel Tortor, ABC President Glenn Plaza and other officials of the province.

Mayor Kim Lope Asis of Bayugan City was also there.

There were teachers, parents and children and volunteers from other organizations who were there to participate in cleaning the whole school and as well as welcomed them (provincial officials) and toured them to the school.

The officials of the province of Agusan del Sur visits the school of Tabon-tabon Elementary School of the municipality of Sibagat and Agusan del Sur Pilot Laboratory School of Bayugan City.

The group visited first the Tabon-tabon Elementary School and then in Agusan del Sur Pilot Laboratory School (ADSPILS) in Bayugan City.




In ADSPILS, Principal  Rosalia Perez shared her grievances about their facilities to Governor Eddiebong Plaza and Vice Governor Santi Cane Jr. But Governor Plaza told her to submit a report and they will give the assistance based on the report submitted.

Principal Perez was very glad to hear and to see that the officials visited their school.



Governor Plaza treat the whole teachers for a bottle of fruit juice.

The vendor was so happy because all of her products were sold out in just that morning.

 GITAMBAKAN sa Northern Division team ang Southern Division  team sa puntos nga 70-63 sa nahitabong 9th Governor’s Cup 2014 All Star game niadtong Mayo 12 nga gipahigayon sa Lope Asis Memorial Gymnasium sa Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.

Unang naka-puntos ang Southern division team tungod sa free throw nga gihatag ni number 8 Jose Jhanmar Noval sa San Francisco Magdiwata.

Apan wala magpalupig ang Northern Division ug gibawi dayon ang labaw nga puntos tungod sa 3 point-shot ni Christian Felicilda sa Bayugan Grains nga gisundan pa kini og 2 ka puntos ni Kenneth John Asis human nabawi ang bola kang Gerald Mikko Apit sa San Francisco Magdiwata.

Gidugangan sa 2-point shot ni  Noval ang ilang puntos human sa sunod-sunod nga free throw nga ilang naangkon. Gisundan gilayon kini ni number 18  Mark Hurtado sa Trento Organix.

Labihan kainit ang maong dula diin natapos ang first period sa iskor nga 19-19.

Sa ikaduhang kanti sa dula, nangusog ang Southern Division team sa ilang pag-atake ug sagunson ang nakuhang mga puntos. Natapos ang first half sa iskor nga 35-36 nga pabor sa team sa Southern division.

Apan bisan sa 3rd period, labaw gihapon ang Southern division sa iskor nga 51-52.

Naghugyaw ang tanang manan-away tungod sa dikit ug maka-undang gininhawa nga away sa duha ka team.

Samtang, sa 4th period sa dula, gipasaka na sa ikaduhang lebel sa point guard sa Bayugan Grains nga si Asis ang iyang abilidad, diin sa nabilin nga 4 ka minuto
Ug 35 segundo, labaw na og usa ka puntos ang Northern Division team sa iskor nga 61-60.

Mas mitaas pa og lima ka puntos ang lamang sa Northern Division team pag-abot sa nabilin nga usa ka minuto ug 41 segundo sa iskor nga 68-63

Sa pagdala ni Asis sa bola, wala na niya gihatagan og tsansa pa ang Southern Division team ug dayong pasa niya sa bola  sa kauban nga si Christian Felicilda nagsarado sa iskor nga 70-63.

Diha-dihang nakadawat og P30-mil nga cash prize ang Northern Division Team nga mao’y nahimong kampeonato  ug P20-mil cash prize usab ang nadawat sa Southern Division team. (JOSEPH IAN ONYOT/PPIO-AGSUR)

Last April 25, the face off between Sibagat Fibers and Bayugan Grains happened at Prosperidad Gymnasium.

The two teams fought and didn't waste any single chance just to shoot and get some points.

And the winner is.... Bayugan Grains! With 86 points while Sibagat had 58.

You know what!?

What the audience were so amazed during the game between the Prosperidad Trekkers and the San Luis Balseros? Is because of this guy.


























Yep! People were so amazed after what he did in the half-court shot challenge or so-called Miracle Shot after the first half of the game. I've heard that they said he is the son of our beloved mayor of Bayugan City.

Even my officemate was attracted to what he did. Her eyes straightly and follow this guy's actions. Aw, she didn't know that I observed her. (Please, don't tell her hahahaha....)

Oh yeah! Shoot please.....

Shoot, shoot, shoot.......

The ball is flying! Wait! But failed

Eh!? Where's the ball?

This one! This one! I want to fly with the ball!

Oh! Com'on! Shoot!

Yeah, he won the challenge that turned the people excited about the basketball team of Bayugan City. Other players were watching him, like everyone wanted to defeat him in the next game in the Northern Division of the 9th Governor's Cup.

Will Bayugan City's elite basketball team grab the spot for the Final game of the 9th Governor's Cup 2014?

By the way, based on my research, his name is Kenneth Asis
