In the celebration of the 116th Independence Day, Governor Adolph Edward
“Eddiebong” G. Plaza formally announced the opening of the 22nd
Naliyagan Festival 2014 of the province of Agusan del Sur at Naliyagan
Cultural Center, Governor D.O. Plaza, Government Center, Prosperidad.
The
celebration started in an Ecumenical prayer followed by the
“Panawagtawag” of the different tribal Chieftains of Agusan del Sur. And
a province-wide Concelebrated Mass at the St. Vincent Ferrer Parish
Church.
Governor Eddiebong Plaza, Congresswoman Maria Valentina “Tina” Plaza of
1st district, Congresswoman Evelyn “Bebs” Mellana-Plaza of 2nd district,
Provincial Director of DILG Ms. Arleen Ann Sanchez and Brigade
Commander Col. Gregory Cayetano of 401st Brigade led the hoisting of
the Philippine flag.
Police Superintendent Alexander Sampaga of the
Provincial PNP of Agusan del Sur directed the “Panunumpa Sa Katapatan Sa
Watawat ng Pilipinas” (Oath of Loyalty to the Philippine Flag).
While Vice Governor Santiago led the hoisting of the flag Province of Agusan del Sur.
A
warm message from the 2 Congresswoman and Governor Eddiebong Plaza
followed. And Governor Plaza on his speech talk about the 22nd Naliyagan
Festival where it showcases the colorful culture, beliefs, hopes and
traditions.
The program ended with the releasing of balloons, freeing of Doves and the cutting of ribbon of Naliyagan Trade, Service and Entertainment Center by different local officials.
